If your email account is not sending or receiving messages, the issue may be related to the mailbox, email client settings, DNS, authentication or server configuration.
Check Webmail first
Try logging in to Webmail.
If Webmail works correctly but your email application does not, the issue is likely related to the email application configuration.
Check your email address and password
Make sure:
- The full email address is entered correctly.
- The mailbox password is correct.
- The account has not been disabled.
- The mailbox exists in your hosting account.
Check incoming mail settings
Verify the incoming mail configuration.
Depending on your setup, you may use:
- IMAP
- POP3
Check:
- Incoming server name
- Port number
- SSL/TLS setting
- Username
- Password
Check outgoing mail settings
For sending email, verify:
- SMTP server name
- SMTP port
- SSL/TLS setting
- SMTP authentication
- Username
- Password
SMTP authentication is normally required.
Check mailbox storage
If the mailbox has reached its storage limit, new messages may not be received.
Review the mailbox usage in your hosting control panel.
Check DNS records
Email delivery can depend on DNS records such as:
- MX
- SPF
- DKIM
- DMARC
Incorrect DNS records may affect mail delivery or authentication.
Check spam or junk folders
If you are waiting for a message, check the Spam or Junk folder.
Some messages may be filtered automatically.
Check for error messages
When an email cannot be sent or delivered, the system may provide an error or bounce message.
Keep the exact message because it can help identify the cause.
Common causes include:
- Incorrect password
- Incorrect SMTP settings
- Mailbox full
- DNS configuration problem
- Sender authentication failure
- Recipient server rejection
- Temporary delivery problem
Test from another device
If possible, test the same email account from Webmail or another device.
This helps determine whether the issue is specific to one email application or device.
